2009 Program
The 2009 Fisher Memorial Program was held on April 17, 2009 at the Spring Meeting of the ABA Business Law Section in Vancouver, BC.
The topic was “Re-Regulation of Consumer Financial Services – Are We Condemned to Repeat Mistakes of The Past.”
Subtopics included:
- Should re-regulation protect lenders as well as consumers?
- Is there an acceptable limit on credit availability resulting from more regulation of product terms?
- What is the role of disclosure in a re-regulation environment?
- What can we learn from the Canadian experience?
